With
a Science (Microbiology / Parasitology) and Marketing degree form
"l'Université de Moncton" in New Brunswick, Canada,
Mr. Gauthier started his microbiology career with Environment
Canada in 1991 as a field and laboratory microbiologist. His scientific
activities where specific to environmental bacteriology monitoring
as part of a joint USA / Canadian Government shellfish quality
control program. This monitoring program, for Atlantic Canada’s
aquaculture industry exports to the United States, is an ongoing
program that is required by the US Government. Mr. Gauthier’s
specific work focused on: environmental assessments, source contaminant
identification, water sampling, a variety of bacterial culture
media preparations, multiple inoculation procedures, sterilization
protocols, sample analysis and data interpretation.
He joined ProCare Water Treatment
Inc.in 2001 as CEO and Chief Microbiologist to perfect a specialized
Legionella intervention and prevention program with the use of
existing industrial silver copper ionization technology. Focusing
on domestic hot water systems found in healthcare facilities and
hotels, the core of his work is aimed at technological advancements
in combination with standardized water quality control monitoring
programs.
After
four years of engineering design and development management, the
first world patent was filled and he announces the launch of the
new AquaLyse®
automated/industrial ion generators in early fall of 2005.
Certified by the New York State
Department of Health for Infection Control and Barrier Precautions,
Mr. Gauthier is also responsible for strategic business partnerships,
technology research and development, water quality assurance programs
and due diligence implementation procedures. He is also responsible
for the corporations’ LERT "Legionella Emergency Response
Team" for Legionella control and prevention action measures.
Mr. Gauthier is member of: APIC
(The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology),
The American Society for Microbiology, ASHE (The American Society
for Healthcare Engineering), CHESS (the Canadian Healthcare Engineers
society), CHICA (The Community and Hospital Infection Control
Association of Canada), the IWA (The International Water Association)
and the SFM (Société Française de Microbiologie).
